2017 to Present

Drawing has been the dominant practice over the past four years, alongside painting mixed-media work and a new avenue into cut-outs. References to the history of art continue to inform the work. Contemporary artists such as Phillida Barlow, Paula Rego alongside other artists both from relatively recent times such as Basquiat and much earlier including the sculptor Gislebertus, have contributed to the development of the work.

The artwork addresses issues of culture, identity, and the passage of time.

The painter believes that it is important to ‘challenge boundaries, embrace the
disturbing and uncomfortable whilst retaining humour and belief in the value of
creative endeavour’.
